The South African Maritime Safety Authority
In response to this call for celebration of Day of the Seafarer, The South African Maritime Safety Authority, the South African Department of Transport as well as other South African Maritime Institutions marked the event with a virtual discussion. The objective of the discussion was to conceptualize the growing realization that seafarers are essential workers. And to furthermore award Seafarers the platform to highlight issues affecting them during the prevalence of Covid-19.
